The Pokémon TCG Live open beta and soft launch has officially been delayed, with both now looking to release next year. No specific time was set.
Originally planned to soft launch on mobile devices in Canada and enter open beta on desktop this year, the game will instead see both dates shifted back to 2022. In a message sent out on the official Pokémon TCG Live Twitter account, the explanation for the move is part of the team’s effort to provide players with a more “polished experience.”
To provide Trainers with a more polished experience, the Pokémon TCG Live mobile soft launch in Canada, and global open beta for desktop, have been shifted to 2022.
We’ll have more to share soon on timing for both this testing period and the full launch of Pokémon TCG Live.

Alongside the news of a delay, a follow-up tweet clarified that players who may have received cards with codes on them for Pokémon TCG Live will still be able to redeem them in Pokémon TCG Online. Ahead of the game’s launch, several new Pokémon TCG products were found to have codes on them that looked to be redeemable in the upcoming game. However, that will have to wait now until next year.
Pokémon TCG Live is set to be the next entry in presenting a digital way for players to play the iconic trading card game. When Pokémon TCG Live releases, players will be able to transfer their Pokémon TCG Online accounts and game data into the new game.
