In the brief look at the game, players are treated to some incredible new graphics for the upcoming remaster, along with some gameplay footage of Alan Wake fighting off monsters with his flashlight. Alongside the gameplay footage, a release date was given for the remaster, with the game coming out on October 5, 2021.

The release date comes as a bit of a shock, as the game was just announced earlier this month. However, it seems as if Remedy Entertainment and Epic Games are ready for it to be released, which will no doubt make fans of the series happy, as they get to dive back into the iconic world even earlier than anticipated.

Epic Games is publishing the remaster. Epic and Remedy signed a deal in March 2020 that meant Epic would be publishing two multiplatform games from the Finnish studio. The second game is unconfirmed but GamesBeat reporter Jeff Grubb stated that this game would be Alan Wake 2. Given the remaster of an 11-year-old-game and the AWE DLC in Control, an Alan Wake sequel seems quite probable.MORE: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake Announced for PS5
