Wolverine Game Teased, Developed By Spider-Man Team

Even though Spider-Man: Miles Morales is not even a year old, Insomniac Games has teased its next game comic game for Marvel. But this specific teased wasn’t for a Spider-Man game. Instead, it is a game starring Wolverine simply titled Wolverine.

The teaser did not show much, only a person walking into a destroyed bar behind someone. No faces were shown, but Wolverine did flash his adamantium claws before the trailer cut to the title. The trailer was captured on PlayStation 5 and is a PS5 exclusive. No release window was given.

Brian Horton is the creative director and Cameron Christian will be game director. Insomniac said the game will “not only respect the DNA of what makes the character so popular, but also look for opportunities to make it feel fresh and truly reflect the Insomniac spirit.” It is “very early in development” so this game probably won’t be coming for quite some time, especially since Insomniac is also working on another Spider-Man game.

Insomniac came up with the idea when brainstorming with Sony and Marvel about Spider-Man. Wolverine came up as a character they wanted to work on as a group and was eventually given the green light, which was undoubtedly because of Spider-Man‘s explosive critical and commercial success. Insomniac said it was drawn to the character because, like Spidey, “both heroes feel deeply compelled to defend people who are less able to do so.”
