New Pokémon Snap Update Adds More Areas and 20 More Pokémon

New Pokémon Snap already had 214 of the titular creatures and now it is getting a few more. An upcoming free update for the game is adding 20 more Pokémon to the game as well as three new areas. The update will be released on August 3.

The official Pokémon Twitter account unveiled the trailer for this upcoming update. In it, it shows the new monsters like Rockruff, Swalot, and Snorlax, to name a few. The trailer also shows a portion where it shrinks the player down to the size of a Poké Ball and lets them get a more intimate look at the bug Pokémon and puts the other, bigger Pokémon in a different light.

According to Serbii, the three new areas are Mightywide River, Florio Island Nature Park, and Barren Wilderness, all of which will have day and night variants. The three areas will have their own sorts of layouts as the river will have rapids and the wilderness will have cliffs and poisonous swamps.

This is the first big update to the game, but it’s unclear if it will see more updates like this or paid DLC down the road.
