Sony and Microsoft have both announced the slate of December 2018 free games that will be available to subscribing PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold members.
PlayStation Plus members will receive Soma, the sci-fi horror title from Fictional Games, that is an unsettling story about identity, consciousness, and what it means to be human. Members will also receive Onrush, the all-action, gravity-defying racing game that is full of unlockable customization options.

The PS Plus lineup also includes Steredenn and Steinsgate for the PS3, as well as Iconoclasts and Papers, Please for the PS Vita. Members can also get the Warframe: PlayStation Plus Booster Pack III from now until January 15, 2019. The pack includes 100 Platinum, 100,000 Credits, Quanta (a Corpus laser rifle), Quanta Obsidian Skin, 7-Day Affinity Booster, and a 7-Day Credit Booster. Xbox Live Gold members will receive four new free games — two on Xbox One and two on Xbox 360 — as part of the Games with Gold Program. On Xbox One, Xbox Live Gold members can download Q.U.B.E. 2 for free during the month of December. Never Alone will be available as a free download from December 16 to January 15.
On Xbox 360, starting December 1st, Dragon Age II will be free for Xbox Live Gold members through December 15. Then on December 16, Xbox Live Gold members can download Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction for free through December 31st. You can subscribe to Xbox Live Gold via this link.
