SpongeBob SquarePants’ Bikini Bottom Coming To San Diego Comic-Con

ARE YA READY KIDS?! It’s been a fun-filled 20 years since those words were first asked to audiences before the start of one of the most iconic theme songs of all-time, and to celebrate the anniversary of the series’ debut, Nickelodeon is bringing Bikini Bottom, the world of SpongeBob SquarePants, to this year’s San Diego Comic-Con!

At its 1,800 square-foot booth on the convention floor, Nickelodeon is taking fans on an in-depth and interactive journey through the optimistic and colorful world of Bikini Bottom that includes The Krusty Krab, where fans can face off in a head-to-head competition to complete more food orders against the clock, as well as a photo opportunity to stand in front of a replica of Mrs. Puff’s Boarding School and The Chum Bucket, which is standing 22-feet over the retail floor and offers costumed character appearances and selling exclusive Nickelodeon merchandise.

In addition to the three location recreations, fans will have opportunities for autograph signings with cast members of the series, as well as the co-creator and executive producers of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, a deep dive into the making of the upcoming live-action/CGI hybrid special “SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout!” with stars Tom Kenny (SpongeBob), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy), Mr. Lawrence (Plankton) and Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs) discussing what it’s like to voice their characters in front of the camera for the first time.

The TMNT co-creator, Kevin Eastman, and executive producers Andy Suriano, Ant Ward and Ciro Neli will also be at the convention for the exclusive panel, To Shell and Back, in which they will celebrate three generations of the iconic pizza-loving characters, as well as discussing the history and fandom of the franchise and revealing never-before-seen art and answering fan questions.

Nickelodeon’s interactive booth will be open from July 18-21 at San Diego Comic-Con and will have more exclusive events and special appearances set to be announced in the coming weeks.
