Mini-Review:
Just in time for the release of “Terminator Salvation,” “T2” is released on Blu-ray in this “Skynet Edition.” I won’t waste time reviewing the movie. We all know it’s great. It is one of my favorite films. So how’s the Blu-ray presentation? I have to admit that on the HD TV, the picture doesn’t look any better than on DVD. I suppose that’s related to the transfer process from film to disc or whatever they originally filmed it with. But the fact is I didn’t see all that much different in picture quality. The same goes for sound quality. There’s only so much refinement you can get before it’s hard to tell the difference from one sound format to another.

How are the bonus features? Well, unfortunately most of them force you to view them while watching the movie. It’s that frustrating ‘picture-in-picture’ thing that personally drives me crazy. I’d prefer the option of watching it separately and in full screen and as far as I can tell, you can’t do that here. On the positive side, they include the extended edition of the film here which features a scene with Michael Biehn, a cool scene where they operate on “Uncle Bob’s” processor, and more.

Overall, the bonus features are frustrating, but it’s a great film to have on Blu-ray.
