School of Rock Goes to Head of the Class

School of Rock, starring Jack Black, went to the head of the class in its debut week, selling more than 1.5 million DVDs and becoming the nation’s No. 1 rental title for the week ending March 7. Paramount Home Entertainment’s comedy generated an estimated $8.82 million in rental revenue during its first five days on rental shelves.

Also, the first-season DVD of comic Dave Chappelle’s Comedy Central series, Chappelle’s Show, continued to sell beyond PHE’s expectations and gained widespread media attention during its second week in release on DVD.
