MGM’s Get Shorty sequel Be Cool, which earned $55.8 million at the domestic box office, shot to the top of VideoScan’s First Alert sales chart its first week in stores.
The film also topped Home Media Retailing’s rental charts for the week ending June 12, generating about $8.3 million, or nearly 15% of its total boxoffice earnings.
After reigning in first for two weeks, Paramount Home Video’s “Chappelle’s Show: Season 2 Uncensored” continued to perform strongly.
Universal’s Seed of Chucky made a strong showing its first week in stores, with the unrated extended edition debuting in fifth place and the rated version at No. 12. Combined sales were enough to put the release right behind “Chappelle.”
