Onefour Members: What Are the Australian Drill Rappers Known For?

Netflix is releasing a documentary titled ONEFOUR: Against All Odds. It will showcase the exploits of a highly influential yet controversial Australian drill and rap group, ONEFOUR. This group formed about nine years ago and went on to become one of the nation’s most popular acts. All of its members grew up in a crime-infested Sydney suburb called Mount Druitt.

As of now, ONEFOUR is yet to release a full-length album. Nevertheless, their 2020 EP titled Against All Odds is often considered a masterpiece. Some of their other popular songs are Welcome to Prison, Say It Again, My City, In the Beginning, etc.

Who are the Onefour members and why are they deemed controversial?

ONEFOUR consists of 5 main members. Unfortunately, the presence of all of them at the same time has never taken place so far. This is due to the fact that all of them have to serve time behind bars at different times.

This drill and rap group is controversial because they are allegedly associated with the gang culture and crime syndicate of Western Sydney. They are always on the radar of cops and already had legal issues with state authorities before their official formation. Due to the controversial nature of their shows and lyrics, several shows of theirs faced cancelation from time to time.

In 2019, the group had no choice but to cancel their inaugural national show due to pressure from the authorities. This further led to the arrest of three of their members. Fans have compared them with the popular American rap group N.W.A. Sometimes, they are even referred to as NWA of Australia or Australian NWA.

The names of ONEFOUR’s five members are Spenny, YP, Celly, Lekks, and J Emz.

Netflix’s Onefour documentary release date

ONEFOUR: Against All Odds will released on Netflix on October 26, 2023.
