Demon Slayer season 4 episode 2: The Hashira Training begins!

Demon Slayer: The Hashira Training arc (Season 4) episode 2 will reveal Tamayo’s answer to Kagaya’s request to join the Demon Slayer Corps. Moreover, since Nezuko conquered the sun, Muzan’s demons might trail her and try to abduct her while the Hashira start the training.

Demon Slayer season 4 episode 1 recap: The Hashira gather for an emergency meeting

The much-awaited Demon Slayer: Hashira Training arc (season 4) began with about an hour-long special episode on Crunchyroll. The episode titled “To Defeat Muzan Kibutsuji” shows the aftermath of the Swordsmith Village arc, where the village is in restoration, and Tanjiro is recovering from his injuries with Genya.

The episode begins with Obanai Iguro and Sanemi Shinazugawa in the middle of their mission with two other demon slayers. While following their targeted demon, the two find themselves surrounded by various demons whom they slash through to move forward. Eventually, they end up in Muzan Kibutsuji’s Infinity Castle, which suddenly disappears.

Confused, they return to the Ubuyashiki Mansion, where the Hashira had been called for an emergency meeting. Elsewhere, Tanjiro is seen recovering with Genya after their fierce battle against the upper-rank demons in the Swordsmith Village.

At the Ubuyashiki Mansion, Kagaya Ubuyashiki’s wife, Amane, informs Hashira that Kagaya will never be able to appear before the demon slayers due to his worsening condition. This leaves Hashira surprised, but after exchanging a few words on the matter, the conversation transitions to Muichiro and Kanroji’s battle at the Swordsmith Village.

Amane asks about the mark that appeared on them during the battle against the upper-rank demons. She adds that the mysterious mark appeared on swordsmen during the Sengoku period who almost defeated Muzan Kibutsuji.

Furthermore, the only person currently bearing the mark is Tanjiro, but he could not articulate its appearance. Hence, Amane turns to the two Hashira on whom the mark appeared. Muichiro explains that during the manifestation of the mark, his body temperature was over 102 degrees, and his heart rate exceeded two hundred beats per minute.

He further explains that the mark appears only when the swordsman decides to fight instead of giving up during a similar crucial moment. This marks the conclusion of the meeting, and Amane tells Hashira a curse related to the mark that shocks the demon slayers. However, the episode does not reveal the curse.

Once the meeting ends, Giyu Tomioka leaves the room and refuses to participate in the Hashira training without explanation. At the Butterfly Mansion, Haganezuka hands Tanjiro’s sword to him. The episode concludes with the protagonist receiving a letter revealing that Tomioka will not participate in the Hashira training.

Elsewhere, Tamayo receives a request from Kagaya, asking for her cooperation in defeating Muzan Kibutsuji. Hence, Kagaya had asked her to join hands with the Demon Slayer Corps and help the Insect Hashira with her research. With the Hashira training in action and Tamayo’s assistance, the Demon Slayer Corps was ready to challenge Muzan Kibutsuji.
