On Tuesday, April 30, 2024, the official website for Gō Nagai’s UFO Robo Grendizer television anime, Grendizer U, released its second promotional video. The clip revealed additional cast members who will be joining alongside new staff members.

Grendizer U Anime: Everything you need to know
Gō Nagai’s highly anticipated anime adaptation series will release in July 2024, and more details on the specific date will release soon. Notably, popular band Glay will perform the opening theme song, “Kaishin no Ichigeki.”
The newly announced cast members will see Shinya Takahashi as Hayashi and Riho Sugiyama as Yamada. Joining them will be Hironori Kondō as Saeki and Sora Tokui as Ōi. Previously announced cast members include Miyu Irino as Duke Fleed, Hiro Shimono as Koji, and Sumire Uesaka as Sayaka Yumi. Nao Tōyama, Minami Tanaka, Haruka Tomatsu, and Ayane Sakura will star as Hikaru Makiba, Grace Maria, Teronna, and Naida, respectively.
Meanwhile, Shun Kudō will be directing the anime at GAINA, with Go Nagai acting as executive producer. Mitsuo Fukuda will serve as chief director, and Tatsuo Higuchi will handle the scripts. Joining them will be Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, who will handle character design, while Kōhei Tanaka will compose the music.
The official website of Grendizer U describes the story as follows: “A man who fell into the desert has no memory. He was picked up by Koji Kabuto and named Daisuke. While the days seemed peaceful, an unidentified phenomenon appeared in the skies above the world’s major cities. It was Vega Star, a military force from a star system far away from Earth.”
“Humanity is overrun by Vega, which is far superior to Earth’s weapons. Mazinger Z soars above the pool of water. Earth’s last hope faces an uphill battle against saucer beasts. Amid this desperate situation, a legendary hero appears out of the dust. Riding on board is Daisuke, who turns out to be Duke Fleed, the prince who was forced to flee his home, planet Fleed,” the synopsis continues.
