On Wednesday, April 17, 2024, the official website for Inio Asano’s Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction unveiled a new trailer for the two-part anime adaptation. The trailer also revealed the theme song and news about the latest release date.
Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction anime is based on Inio Asano’s popular manga of the same name. The series was first released in 2014 under the Shogakukan’s Big Comic Spirits magazine. Before the manga’s epic conclusion in 2022, it won the Best General Manga award at the 66th Shogakukan Manga Awards. Moreover, the manga has also received significant honors at the 25th Japan Media Arts Festival Awards.

Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction Anime: Everything you need to know
Following the success of the first film, which aired on March 22, 2024, the second film is reported to air on May 24, after it was postponed from its original release date of April 19. Reportedly, ano and Lilas Ikuta will team up to perform the theme songs “Abababab Absolute Sanctuary” and “Adolescence Hymn.”
The main cast includes ano as Ōran Nakagawa and Lilas Ikuta as Kadode Koyama. Joining them will be Atsumi Tanezaki as Kiho Kurihara, Chiharu Sawashiro as Ojiro-senpai, and many other competent individuals.
As for the staff, Tomoyuki Kurokawa, known for his work on Dragonar Academy, directs the anime at Production +h. Reiko Yoshida writes and oversees the series scripts, Mika Nishimura joins as art director, while Nobutake Ito handles character designs. Taro Umebayashi is in charge of composing the music.
Viz Manga is responsible for releasing the manga in English. It describes it as follows: “The Japan Self-Defense Forces are still looking for a way to combat the alien threat, but so far, conventional weapons have had no effect. Maybe it’s time to try something unconventional. Meanwhile, Kadode Koyama and her best friend avidly track the aliens’ movements on social media and less enthusiastically study for college entrance exams. When the world’s end looms, you learn to take things one step at a time.”
