Mashle Season 2 Episode 12 Recap: Mash Escapes Expulsion

Mashle season 2 episode 12, titled “Mash Burnedead and his good friends,” aired on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 11:30 p.m. JST. After successfully saving Wahlberg and the school from Innocent Zero’s plans in the previous episode, Mash faced another major hurdle in the form of his final exams.

Following the panic caused by Zero’s attacks, Mash and his friends headed to the beach to clear their heads. Lemon and Finn express their concern for Mash and his perilous future, knowing he is Innocent Zero’s son. They are interrupted by Wahlberg, who makes a shocking appearance despite his severe injuries.

Wahlberg tells them that the battle with Innocent Zero will be impossible to win. Innocent Zero’s time magic, knowledge of forbidden spells, and even his newly acquired spatial magic make him the strongest being in the world.

Mash interrupts the group and vows to take down Innocent Zero with his muscles and graduate with all of them. However, Lance interrupts by reminding him that exams are soon and failure to pass would mean expulsion, which terrifies Mash. They head back to the school to help him study, and after a series of tests, they find out how terrible he is at studying.

Confronted with the facts, Mash runs away into the forest to hide, literally burying himself in the ground. However, Finn arrives to talk him out of his slump, encouraging Mash to try harder. On exam day, Mash panics as the test arrives. He answers what he can and leaves the rest. Ultimately, the teacher compliments him and is happy he can put in effort when it matters.

Mashle season 2 episode 12 spoilers: Citizens call for Mash’s head

Despite the Divine Visionaries’ attempts to control the flow of information, news of a non-magic user reached the ears of citizens. The news caused a massive protest outside Easton, with the protesters calling for his head. Tom informs Mash and his friends of what’s happening, and they go to see the protestors.

Infuriated by their words, Lemon speaks to them, rebuking them for attacking someone as nice as Mash. They throw stones at her and curse her for having no relation to the case. This prompts her to say that Mash and she are married, which riles them up even more.

They continue to throw stones at Lemon, which forces Mash to step up, catching all the rocks and crushing them. Mash is then attacked by one of the protestors, who drops a 15-mm steel cage on him. The protagonist is able to break through the cage with ease and hurl it back at the man, trapping him in his own spell. He then announces that he will be the best in the magical realm.

Wahlberg interrupts his speech, telling the crowd that Mash’s case will be handled after the divine visionary exam. Wahlberg then tells Mash how rare it is to have people care as much as his friends. He asks Mash to pass the visionary exam for the sake of his friends, who will be seen as accomplices if he fails. The episode ends with Mash promising to do just that.
