Following the conclusion of season 1 on March 20, 2024, the official website and Twitter announced that Keiso’s Ishura anime will get a second season. The announcement also revealed a key visual and a video teaser.

Keiso released his hit novel on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō websites in 2017. Kadokawa then obtained the rights and started publishing in September 2019. The novel was a huge success, winning multiple awards at the 2021 edition of This Light Novel Is Amazing.
Ishura anime: Everything you need to know
Since its premiere on January 3, the Ishura anime has been making waves with its story and unique characters. The anime was a major success, streaming on over 23 multiple worldwide networks, including Disney+ and Hulu. The new visual trailer shows Kūro the Cautious, who will take center stage in the upcoming season.
The new season will see Yūki Kaji and Reina Ueda reprise their roles as Soujirou and Yuno, alongside many other fan favorites. Reportedly, Takeo Takahashi is the chief director of the series, with Yuki Ogawa serving as its director. Kenta Ihara is supervising and writing the series’ scripts, while studio Sanzingen handles the CG animation at Passione.
The previous season adapted the first volume of the series, titled The New Demon King War. As such, the upcoming season will adapt the second volume, The Particle Storm in the Realm of Slaughter.
Yen Press, who release the series in English, describes the series as: “Tremendous destruction has been done by the central players in the New Demon King War. Gods made flesh have met their end as their names enter the annals of history. Even so, there are still those with enough power to shape the new era. Among them is a golem who revives endlessly by conquering whatever weakness caused its downfall, a giant whose arrows transform the very terrain and an entity that reduces everything it touches to dust.”
The synopsis continues, “When these forces of nature encounter those who would use their powers for their own ends. The world enters a veritable arms race. And while the seat of the True Hero remains empty, those who profit most from conflict bide their time while their champion lights the flames of war once again.”
