On Friday, March 8, 2024, the staff for the anime adaptation of Shinogi Kazanami’s light novel series The New Gate revealed its release date and a new visual. They also announced the names of two additional cast members joining the lineup.
Shinogi Kazanami released the novels on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2013. Later on, AlphaPolis started to publish physical book volumes in December 2013, with art by Makai no Jūnin.

Shinogi Kazanami’s highly anticipated anime will be part of the 2024 spring lineup. It will premiere on April 13, 2024, at 25:30 (effectively April 14 at 1:30 a.m.) JST. Reportedly, Mika Okasaki will perform the ending song, which will be titled “Kanataboshi.”
The anime features a star-studded lineup. Among these, Lynn will star as Rionne Strail Bayreuth, with Yūki Hoshi starring as Kagerou. Previously announced cast members include Kenshō Ono as Shin and Asami Seto as Schnee Raizar. It will also feature Kaede Hondo as Tiera Lucent, Mika Okasaki as Yuzuha, and Shunya Hiruma as Wilhelm. Kaori Ishihara will star as Rashia Luzel, while Akiho Suzumoto will voice Millie.
As for the staff, Tamaki Nakatsu is directing the anime at Yokohama Animation Lab and Cloud Hearts. Hiroki Uchida handles the scripts, while Itsuki Takemoto handles the character design. Tatsuhiko Saiki, Yūya Mori, Misaki Tsuchida, and Tsugumi Tanaka are composing the music.
One Peace Books, which releases the novel manga adaptation, describes the manga as: “THE NEW GATE—an online game transformed into a life-and-death struggle for its players. Thanks to the valiant efforts of Shin, the most powerful of them all, an end to the game and freedom for everyone seemed within reach.”
The synopsis continues, “But just moments after Shin defeats the game’s final boss, he finds himself bathed in an unknown light and transported some 500 years into the future of the in-game world. Thrown from a simple game gone wrong into a strange new land, one young swordsman of unrivaled strength is about to embark on a legendary journey!”
