The New Gate is an upcoming anime series being produced by Yokohama Animation Lab and Cloud Hearts. The anime is based on Shinogi Kazanami’s original light novel. The release is scheduled for sometime in 2024. Yoshiyuki Miwa has adapted the manga version of the light novel. Shinogi Kazanami‘s light novel series The New Gate will be getting an anime adaptation scheduled for next year, 2024. The official website recently released vital visuals for the upcoming series and some information about the cast.
The main cast includes Kenshou Ono as Shin, Asami Seto as Schnee Raizar, and Kaede Hondo as Tiera Lucent. The key visual features these three characters, as portrayed in the tweet below.
Yokohama Animation Lab and Cloud Hearts are co-producing. We have Tamaki Nakatsu directing the series with Hiroki Uchida. Both of them have worked on renowned projects like “Maboroshi no Golden Bowl” and “I’m Giving the Disgraced Noble Lady I Rescued a Crash Course in Naughtiness.” Also, Itsuki Takemoto undertakes the character designs. Yuuya Mori, Misaki Tsuchida, and Tsugumi Tanaka are composing the series’ music.
The official synopsis of the anime describes the series as follows.
The online game “THE NEW GATE” was bustling with many players, but the virtual space suddenly transformed, trapping and tormenting people in the game world. To shatter this situation, one young man stood up – Shin, the strongest player in the game.
Blocking his way was the greatest enemy in this world, Origin. “It’s over…!” At the end of a fight to the death, Shin’s killing blow pierced through Origin’s body. The ringing announcement confirmed the game’s completion and the liberation of the imprisoned players.
Shin also bid farewell to the familiar world as people began to log out. However, at that moment, a new door suddenly opened before him――What unfolded before Shin, wrapped in light, was… the world of “THE NEW GATE,” 500 years after clearing the game!
