One Piece: Why Did Stussy Betray CP0?

Cipher Pol has been one of the most dominant organizations in One Piece. The famous group works directly under the Celestial Dragons and specializes in espionage and assassination. They have repeatedly crossed paths with the Strawhat pirates, with the Cp9 arc still considered one of the best today. The group consists of powerhouses like Rob Lucci, Stussy, and Kaku.

In one of the recent chapters of the series, Stussy betrays Cp0 and joins Luffy to help Vegapunk escape the island.

Stussy is MAD’s first successful attempt at cloning; she was modeled after Miss Buckingham, a former member of the Rocks Pirates. Vegapunk was one of the scientists behind the program and was the only one who treated her like a human. His affection earned him her undying loyalty.

From the beginning, she has been undercover as a mole in Cipher Pol. From the start of the egghead arc, the signs were evident; not only did she claim she’d been there before, but she also knew where all of Vegapunk’s defense systems were located. However, her betrayal becomes apparent after she defeats Kaku and Lucci with her supernatural abilities.

In Cp0, she was regarded as the Queen of the Underworld, under the epithet “Queen of the Pleasure District. She was first introduced to the series in episode 828, during Sanji’s wedding ceremony on Big Mom’s Island.

In chapter 1072, the CP0 moved and started their plans to execute Vegapunk. Lucci was given control of the Seraphim Unit to help him on his mission. Suddenly, Stussy bit Kaku in the neck, causing him to faint and stunning Rob Lucci. Her dark wings popped out, and she revealed her identity to her former partner. She informs Vegapunk of her status and joins Luffy in escorting him out safely.

It was Vegapunk’s care and affection for Stussy that won her over. Even when trying to flee for his life, he still worries about her, asking her to accompany them.
