The Shibuya Incident Arc

The Shibuya Incident arc is one of the fandom’s most beloved arcs. It spreads over 58 chapters in the manga and 18 episodes in the anime series, making it the longest arc after the Culling Game arc yet. The arc comes to a close with the end of the recent Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2. Chronologically, the sixth arc in the series, the Shibuya Incident arc, features the tragic Shibuya Incident on October 31, 2018

Fans witness cursed spirits teaming up with cursed users to seal Satoru Gojo in the Prison Realm. Pseudo-Geto, aka Kenjaku, remains the mastermind behind the tragedy along with Mahito. The main feature of this arc is that it consists of not one but multiple significant events that shape the destiny of the jujutsu sorcerers. With the deaths of fans’ favorite characters and unexpected plot twists, this arc keeps the fans on the edge of their seats.

The Culling Game Arc

The Culling Game arc is the ninth story arc in Gege’s Jujutsu Kaisen series. It sets fans’ beloved Yuji Itadori and Megumi Fushiguro on an exciting yet terrifying adventure. This adventure comes with a mission to rescue Fushiguro’s sister, Tsumiki Fushiguro, and to help Satoru Gojo escape the Prison Realm by unsealing him. Moreover, it also entails the task of protecting Master Tengen from Kenjaku and his cunning plans.

The Shibuya Incident saw Kenjaku or Pseudo-Geto’s strategic and tactical abilities that allowed him to seal the “greatest sorcerer in the world,” Gojo. Being wary of his schemes turns out to be one of the primary precautions that the protagonists take. Kenjaku orchestrated the act of jujutsu terrorism, which nobody saw coming. So much so that even the cursed spirits involved did not know his entire plan. Hence, the Culling Game, which will debut in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, will feature deadly battles across ten barrier colonies. To make matters interesting, the Culling Game will involve strict rules that the contenders will have to adhere to.

Fans who keep up with the anime are excited to see how the narrative unfolds after the Shibuya Incident. So much so they seem to be taking up the manga to catch up with the plot; whether or not the viewers are updated with the story, Season 3 will definitely be worth the wait!
