About the Series
The Misfit of Demon King Academy: History’s Strongest Demon King Reincarnates and Goes to School with His Descendants is a light novel series by Shu and Yoshinori Shizuma. The series was initially published on Shosetsuka ni Naro in April 2017 before transferring to ASCII Media Works in March 2018. The Misfit of Demon King Academy also had a manga adaptation illustrated by Kayaharuka. It was serialized on Square Enix’s Manga UP! from July 2018 to July 2021.
In 2020, the first season of the anime adaptation by Silver Link premiered. Shin Oonuma and Masafumi Tamura directed the series. The first season had 13 episodes. Meanwhile, the second season will be a split-cour one. The opening theme is “Seien,” performed by Lenny code fiction, while the ending theme is titled “Esoa” by Momosu Momosu.
The Misfit of Demon King Academy centers around former demon king, Anos Voldigoad. He sacrificed his own life 2,000 years ago for the sake of peace. However, after reincarnating, he learns that the level of magic is weaker. Furthermore, upon entering the Demon King Academy, his past history as king is completely different from what it really was before.
