Chainsaw Man Anime Trailer Confirms 2022 Release

The highly anticipated upcoming Chainsaw Man anime got a new trailer during this week’s Jump Festa event in Japan, along with confirmation that the series would be premiering in 2022.

The latest trailer for the anime didn’t give away too much, but was filled with a ton of images from the manga that it will be adapting. Accompanied by some intense music and an overall ominous tone, the trailer ends by giving fans a brief look at how Makima will appear in the upcoming anime.

Chainsaw Man‘s appearance at Jump Festa also came with the announcement that the second part of the manga would also return in Summer 2022.

“Denji’s a poor young man who’ll do anything for money, even hunting down devils with his pet devil-dog Pochita,” reads the official synopsis of the manga. “He’s a simple man with simple dreams, drowning under a mountain of debt. But his sad life gets turned upside down one day when he’s betrayed by someone he trusts. Now with the power of a devil inside him, Denji’s become a whole new man—Chainsaw Man!”

Chainsaw Man is originally a manga series written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto, who also is known for their work on the Fire Punch manga. It was initially serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from December 2018 to December 2020.
