Platinum End Release Date & Cast Revealed

The anime adaptation of the popular manga series Platinum End officially has a release date, with the series announcing that it would be debuting in just two months alongside some new cast information.

Platinum End will premiere on October 7 on TBS and October 8 on BS11 in Japan (via Anime News Network), with the series planning on going for an uninterrupted 24-episode run through March 2022. Crunchyroll will be streaming the entire anime this fall, so international fans looking to catch the action unfold won’t have to wait too long.

Alongside the release information, two new cast members have been announced. Kaori Made will be taking on the role of Mimi Yamada, while Shōya Chiba will play Mizukiyo Minamikawa in the upcoming anime.

The cast for Platinum End also includes:

  • Natsuki Hanae as Revel
  • M.A.O as Saki Hanakago
  • Toshiyuki Morikawa as Nanato Mukaidō
  • Ai Kayano as Baret
  • Kaito Ishikawa as Kanade Uryū
  • Kikuko Inoue as Meyza
  • Tomoaki Maeno as Hajime Sokotani
  • Hikaru Midorikawa as Balta

“As his classmates celebrate their middle school graduation, troubled Mirai is mired in darkness,” says the official description from VIZ. “But his battle is just beginning when he receives some salvation from above in the form of an angel. Now Mirai is pitted against 12 other chosen humans in a battle in which the winner becomes the next god of the world. Mirai has an angel in his corner, but he may need to become a devil to survive.”

Hideya Takahashi, who is best known for his work on JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind, is directing Platinum End. The anime adaptation will hail from the studio Signal.MD. Shinichi Inotsume will compose while Koji Oodate will handle character design.

Platinum End is a manga series written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata. It was serialized in Jump Square between November 2014 and January 2021.
