Days after the reveal of her upcoming role in Salem Season Two, genre TV icon Lucy Lawless reteams with her Xena: Warrior Princess producers Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert and co-star Bruce Campbell on the highly anticipated Starz series, Ash Vs. Evil Dead.
The upcoming series sees Campbell return as cult character Ash, the goofball hero of Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness, who’s still facing down deadites and dead ends. Lawless will play Ruby, “a mysterious figure who is myopic in her quest to hunt down the source of the recent Evil outbreaks. The only problem: she believes that Ash (Bruce Campbell) is the cause of it all.” Funny enough, the recently announced cast member Jill Marie Jones also essays a character after Ash, believing him responsible for a series of grisly murders. The knives are out for Ashley J. Williams.
Raimi will direct the first episode of Ash Vs. Evil Dead, which heads into production this spring and is expected to premiere on Starz in a 10-episode season later this year.
