Dunes Producer Talks Friday the 13th, Nightmare Future

And it’s looking grim

Platinum Dunes producer Brad Fuller took to his Twitter account this morning to lay some truth on his followers regarding any proposed sequels for Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street.

“I want to set the record straight on Freddy and Jason,” said Fuller. “[Mark] Shannon and [Damian] Swift wrote a great script. We are ready to go, when new line is ready. But as of yet, they are not ready.”

He goes on to add: “As for Freddy, as far as I know, there isn’t even talk of writing another script.”

Fuller laments the fact that studios are veering away from R-rated horror films. Until they’re approached about one, Platinum Dunes is moving forward on Ouija, a high adventure film, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

So, despite what you may have read about a Friday sequel (casting and FX rumors abound), it’s all b.s.
