John Williams goes behind the scenes of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens score

This Sunday is the 88th Academy Awards and the 50th time that composer John Williams has been nominated by The Academy. Ahead of his potential sixth victory, Lucasfilm has brought online a behind-the-scenes video detailing Williams’ process in developing and orchestrating the Star Wars: The Force Awakens score which you can check out below.

Williams is nominated for “Best Original Score,” which sees him up against Thomas Newman for Bridge of Spies, Carter Burwell for Carol, Ennio Morricone for The Hateful Eight, and Jóhann Jóhannsson for Sicario.

Set to be hosted by Chris Rock, The 88th Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, February 28, 2016, at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood, and will be televised live by the ABC Television Network at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT. The Oscar presentation also will be televised live in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.
