‘Predestination’ Set for January 2015 Release, New Trailer Premieres

Apparently it will be Sony’s offshoot distribution company Stage 6 that will release Predestination, the latest film from Daybreakers directors Michael and Peter Spierig starring Ethan Hawke, Sarah Snook and Noah Taylor, which is now set for a not-so-pretty January 9, 2015 release date.

The story chronicles the life of a Temporal Agent (Hawke) sent on an intricate series of time-travel journeys designed to prevent future killers from committing their crimes. Now, on his final assignment, the Agent must stop the one criminal that has eluded him throughout time and prevent a devastating attack in which thousands of lives will be lost.

The film has already hit theaters in Australia and New Zealand where it has grossed $560,031 and early festival reviews haven’t been too bad with Variety calling it an “entrancingly strange science-fiction drama” and the Guardian‘s reviewer saying, “It’s free-ranged, grass-fed bull, but wow, can it move fast.”

Here’s the official domestic trailer.
