Colin Farrell Confirms He’s In for ‘True Detective’ Season Two

“I’m doing the second series. I’m so excited,” Colin Farrell told Sunday World, confirming rumors he would be starring in the second season of HBO‘s “True Detective“, which, I guess, makes him the first official cast member for the show’s sophomore session. That is, other than Justin Lin (Fast & Furious 6) who will be directing at least two episodes.

Farrell also confirmed the second season will be eight episodes, just as the first, and will take “around four or five months to shoot.”

“I know very little about it,” Farrell added, “but we’re shooting in the environs of Los Angeles which is great. It means I get to stay at home and see the kids.”

There are only a few details available concerning the plot, which is said to involve a trio of law enforcement officers investigating a murder that appears to be tied to the construction of a high-speed railway system throughout the state of California.

Names such as Vince Vaughn, Taylor Kitsch, Rachel McAdams and Elisabeth Moss have been rumored for this next season with Vaughn said to possibly be playing the business man leading the shady business deal at the center of the story. So far, though, Farrell is all that’s confirmed as filming is expected to begin early 2015.
