Michael B. Jordan Has Not Been Offered a Role in ‘Independence Day 2’

The race to be first in the scoop game has gotten a bit ridiculous as of late as legitimate outlets have taken to reporting on the mere meeting of actors and directors and turned it into a story. Of course, it’s done for a multitude of reasons from pageviews to pride, and we’ve seen a lot of it recently for films including Fifty Shades of Grey and Star Wars: Episode VII (aka the films that generate the most traffic).

Today it continues with a story from The Wrap saying Fruitvale Station star Michael B. Jordan is being eyed for a role in Roland Emmerich‘s Independence Day 2 (aka ID Forever Part I). The news, however, comes with one major caveat, “Jordan has not yet received an offer, nor does one seem imminent.” Hmmmm, so… I guess there isn’t much else to say?

I guess we could speculate on what role he’ll play even though we really don’t know anything about the story or even if Will Smith will return. I know we expect Bill Pullman and Jeff Goldblum to return so perhaps his character will talk to them? It’s almost like anything could happen. Your guess is as good as mine.

Perhaps the best thing to do would be to recommend you make sure and see Fruitvale at your earliest convenience and hope someone as talented as Jordan sticks to quality films and not disposable Hollywood junk. Just my opinion.
