The first trailer for Lionsgate’s Dredd starring Karl Urban as the title character will arrive this Thursday, June 21, but, as is now fashionable, a 10 second teaser for said trailer has arrived giving you an early sneak at what you can expect.
The film is a new adaptation centered on the character Judge Joe Dredd created by writer John Wagner and artist Carlos Ezquerra from the British science fiction anthology “2000 AD” and centers on Dredd (Urban), an American law enforcement officer in a violent city of the future where uniformed Judges combine the powers of police, judge, jury and executioner. Dredd and his fellow Judges are empowered to arrest, sentence and even execute criminals on the spot.
Directed by Pete Travis (Vantage Point), the film will hit theaters on September 21 and co-stars Olivia Thirlby, Lena Headey and Domhnall Gleeson.
