Will Bill be killed? Definitely not before you have the chance to enjoy the ultimate follow up film to one of the best movies of 2003.
Quentin Tarantino shocked us all with just how great Kill Bill: Volume One last year, and proved that he has his own flair and a talent that has not been exhibited by any director before him.
When we last left The Bride (Thurman) she had just dispensed of O-Ren Ishii and Vernita Green with her eyes set on settling the score with Elle Driver and Budd before her final confrontation with the elusive Bill.
Now before you run out to see this excellent movie let me tell you not to expect what you got from Volume One. Kill Bill: Volume Two has a life of its own and is just as original as the first film and much more Tarantino.
Where as Volume One was driven by action and blood, Volume Two is more of a story driven feature giving us all the original characters we expect from Tarantino and all the witty dialogue they can offer up. Don’t get me wrong, there is still a fair amount of action and a final result to one of the fights that will have you adjusting your seat.
Volume Two guides you through the final stages of The Bride’s journey as well as gives you a glimpse back into just how she became the deadliest woman on Earth as we are introduced to her martial arts instructor Pei Mei played by Gordon Liu, who brings you back in time to the martial arts movies of the 70s.
Every character is vintage Tarantino and has that “quality” that we come to expect in Quentin’s characters.
I went on and on in my review of Volume One, but this time I have decided to just tell you to go see this film. If you loved Volume One, you will love Volume Two, and if you didn’t really like Volume One, this may be the film to change your opinion. Both films are vintage Tarantino and definitely must-not-miss movies.
