UPDATE: This casting rumor along with rumors that Stuart Townsend and Joseph Fiennes had been cast in Harry Potter 6 have been said to be untrue according to the actors’ reps reports MTV.
There have been rumors for quite some time now that Naomi Watts was going to be joining the cast of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, but according to News.com.au she has now signed on to play Narcissa Malfoy, mother to Draco and wife to Lucius.
Currently preggers with Liev Schrieber’s baby, Watts wouldn’t begin filming her part in the sixth installment until September.
Watts would fit the role and it would be our first chance to see her play a slightly more evil character. Half-Blood Prince is already set for a November 21, 2008 release with Order of the Phoenix helmer David Yates back in the chair.
