Apple TV+ has offered a fresh look at the next chapter of Dark Matter, releasing a new trailer for Season 2. Arriving just weeks before the series returns, the preview hints that the fight over the multiverse is only beginning. The latest clip also suggests the characters will face a far greater challenge, raising the stakes for the show’s second season.
The newly released trailer centers the Dessen family in a growing multiverse crisis. As the consequences of the Box continue to spread across different realities, Jason, Daniela, and their allies realize that surviving is no longer enough. The trailer suggests their only chance to end the threat is to destroy the Box before it causes even more devastating consequences.
The story resumes after the Dessen family settles into what appears to be a safe reality known as World 26. Their brief sense of normalcy quickly disappears as Jason becomes increasingly consumed by the mysteries surrounding the Box. At the same time, Daniela becomes increasingly convinced that the danger surrounding their family has not ended. Meanwhile, Charlie struggles to adjust as the family is forced back on the run.
The series is based on Blake Crouch’s bestselling novel. It stars Joel Edgerton as Jason Dessen, Jennifer Connelly as Daniela Dessen, Alice Braga as Amanda Lucas, Oakes Fegley as Charlie Dessen, and more. The second season will consist of 10 episodes and premiere on Apple TV+ on August 28, 2026. New episodes will be released every Friday until the finale on October 30, 2026.
