Rowan Blanchard added to the cast of Millicent Hailes’ dark comedy The Drill
According to a recent report published by Deadline, Rowan Blanchard has joined the cast of Millicent Hailes’ upcoming feature, The Drill.
While Blanchard, who received worldwide recognition for her role as Shunammite in Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale spin-off series The Testaments, has officially signed on to the project, details regarding her role remain under wraps at the time of writing.
Moreover, the project has yet to confirm the recruitment of additional cast members. Notably, the 24-year-old actress is repped by Paradigm, Untitled Entertainment, and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman.
Keatyn Lee, who has previously worked on high-profile features such as A Late Quartet and The Sitter, will be penning the script for The Drill.
Even though the exact plot of the dark comedy remains unknown, fans now know that the movie will showcase the chaotic aftermath of an active shooter launching an attack on a high school. Having taken over the institution, the shooter holds the school’s drill team hostage inside their gym, giving way to an anarchic situation.
In addition to Millicent Hailes, Rowan Blanchard, and Keatyn Lee, The Drill also packs a stacked producer lineup, including Vince Jolivette (Spring Breakers, The Disaster Artist), Tyler Payne (Perfect, Speed the Plow), Jiarui Guo (The Brutalist, Family Movie), and Douglass Riggs (Perfect, Speed the Plow).
The movie is currently on track to begin filming in Texas sometime next week. Nevertheless, The Drill does not have an official release date window at the moment.
