Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 has added another major name to its growing cast. A star from HBO’s The Last of Us is joining the hit crime drama to play a chilling new serial killer, raising the stakes for Michael C. Hall‘s Dexter Morgan.
Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 adds a terrifying new serial killer
According to Deadline, The Last of Us actor Gabriel Luna will play a guest role in Dexter: Resurrection Season 2. Luna’s character is a serial killer known as The Sleepy-Eyed Stranger. Showtime has not revealed the character’s backstory, though the name suggests he could become one of Dexter’s most unsettling adversaries.
Luna will join several previously announced cast members. Brian Cox will play The New York Ripper, and Dan Stevens will return as The Five Borough Killer. Uma Thurman will also reprise her role as Charley. The upcoming season will also feature Bokeem Woodbine as Capt. Mixon and Nona Parker Johnson as Fiona Mixon. Krysten Ritter has also been announced as a guest star.
Luna’s role as Tommy in HBO’s The Last of Us brought him notoriety. He played Rev-9 in Terminator: Dark Fate and Robbie Reyes/Ghost Rider in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. His experience in action-heavy roles makes him a notable addition to the cast.
Dexter: Resurrection comes from Emmy-nominated showrunner Clyde Phillips. It follows, “Dexter Morgan awakens from a coma and sets out for New York City, determined to find Harrison and make things right. But when Miami Metro’s Angel Batista arrives with questions, Dexter realizes his past is catching up to him fast.”
Paramount Television and Counterpart Studios produce the series. Hall also serves as an executive producer alongside Phillips and other members of the creative team.
Season 1 of Dexter: Resurrection is now streaming on Paramount+ with the Premium plan. Season 2 is expected to premiere sometime in October 2026.
