James Gunn recently shut down the Man of Tomorrow trailer rumor in just four words. However, his response also included good news for fans anticipating the movie.
What is the Man of Tomorrow update?
Gunn attended the CineEurope convention, where rumors suggested he had screened the first trailer for the upcoming Superman movie for attendees. However, in a Threads post captioned “The first trailer for ‘MAN OF TOMORROW’ was shown at Cine Europe,” Gunn replied with four words: “Short BTS, not trailer.”
As of now, no further details have been revealed about the behind-the-scenes footage shown at the event. Since the convention is attended by insiders in the industry, there is a low likelihood that the short behind-the-scenes footage will be leaked.
In a recent post on X, Gunn also shared a behind-the-scenes image wishing David Corenswet a happy birthday. In the image, the actor is seen with a worn-out Superman costume, leading fans to speculate that it was a behind-the-scenes photo from Man of Tomorrow.
That said, more news is expected from Man of Tomorrow, as production has already begun. During the New York premiere of DC’s latest movie, Supergirl, Gunn’s wife, Jennifer Holland, revealed that the director had immediately left for filming and hinted that she could appear in the upcoming Superman film.
In addition to this, Milly Alcock will reprise her role as Supergirl in the movie. Nicholas Hoult will also reprise his role as Lex Luthor. He was recently spotted in another set video. In the upcoming movie, Superman and Luthor will join forces to fight against a new threat, Brainiac, played by Lars Eidinger.
The cast also includes Aaron Pierre as John Stewart/Green Lantern, along with Matthew Lillard, Adria Arjona, Andre Royo, Isabela Merced, Rachel Brosnahan, Frank Grillo, Sara Sampaio, and María Gabriela de Faría.
Man of Tomorrow is slated for release in theaters on July 9, 2027.
