Amy Adams has shared important details about her character in Star Wars: Starfighter. She will star in the upcoming movie alongside Ryan Gosling, Mia Goth, and Matt Smith. Shawn Levy is directing the film from a script by Jonathan Tropper.
Amy Adams says her Star Wars: Starfighter part is “very small”
During a recent appearance on the SmartLess podcast, Adams revealed she has a “very small part” in Star Wars: Starfighter. However, she added that she enjoyed her time on the set of the movie. Adams also said she is a fan of the franchise. When asked if she got to hold all the props, Adams replied that she did, adding that she “went to the creature shop twice” and it was “so cool.”
The Man of Steel star continued, “I mean, I’ll talk about this, I’m sure, down the road, but like – I don’t know what I’m allowed to talk about, but I was so nervous the first day of working, like I forgot how to act. I’m sure Shawn Levy’s like, ‘Amy, are you okay?’ And I’m like, ‘No. I’m just not alright!'” She underscored what impact being on the Star Wars set had on her after growing up loving the franchise.
Further, Adams recalled thinking, “I have to now get out of my dorky fangirl place and go into my professional actress [mode], and combining the two was really hard. It’s so cool, you guys – it’s just so cool.” The six-time Oscar-nominee also praised the performance of Flynn Gray, the young central cast member of the movie.
The plot of Star Wars: Starfighter remains strictly under wraps. However, fans do know that it will take place five years after 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
Lucasfilm and Levy’s 21 Laps Entertainment are producing the feature. Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures will serve as its distributor. Star Wars: Starfighter is currently scheduled to debut in US theaters on May 28, 2027.
