According to FlixPatrol’s report for June 23, 2026, Sugar is currently #2 on Apple TV’s Top 10 Shows. Season 2 premiered last week on June 19 and immediately claimed the #3 spot, a ranking it has improved upon since. Moreover, the show is also #4 on the platform’s overall ranking.
Meanwhile, the new horror-comedy Widow’s Bay is leading the charts. The list further includes Amy Adams’ Cape Fear at #3, Jon Hamm’s Your Friends & Neighbors at #4, Jason Sudeikis’ Ted Lasso at #5, and Harrison Ford’s Shrinking at #6.
Sugar is a neo-noir mystery-drama starring Colin Farrell as private investigator John Sugar. He is hired by a powerful Hollywood producer to find his missing granddaughter, Olivia Siegel. As Sugar digs deeper, he uncovers dark family secrets. In the latter half of the first season, a shocking reveal completely reshapes the audience’s perception of the show and the genre it set out with.
Mark Protosevich created the series for Apple TV. He also serves as the showrunner alongside Simon Kinberg and Sam Catlin. The supporting cast features Kirby, Amy Ryan, Dennis Boutsikaris, Sydney Chandler, Eric Lange, and James Cromwell, among others. Season 2 will feature new faces, including Tony Dalton, Laura Donnelly, and Sasha Calle.
Sugar Season 1 debuted on April 5, 2024, with new episodes arriving weekly. Critically, the show has fared well with both critics and audiences. On Rotten Tomatoes, it currently has a critics’ approval rating of 88% and a user rating of 89%. Furthermore, it received one Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Cinematography.
While Season 2 has just started, The Penguin star said he hopes the show gets at least four or five seasons.
