One of the Elf movie’s most memorable cast members has officially been arrested in Florida. The actor in question is comedian Faizon Love, who is best known for playing the Gimbel’s department store manager Wanda in Will Ferrell’s iconic 2003 Christmas movie.
Why was Elf star Faizon Love arrested in Florida?
Per TMZ, Love was arrested this Tuesday in Hillsborough County, Florida, on two charges of contempt of court. It is reportedly connected to an ongoing paternity case involving the Elf star. This won’t be Love’s first brush with the law, as he was previously accused of assault twice in the past decade, involving a valet in Ohio in 2017 and a hotel worker in San Diego in 2024.
Besides Elf, Love also had notable supporting roles in several movies, including Big Worm in 1995’s Friday, Rufus in 1996’s Don’t Be a Menace, Shane in 2009’s Couples Retreat, and Jahmal in 2000’s The Replacements. He also appeared in movies such as Life as We Know It, Zookeeper, Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son, The War with Grandpa, and The Last Stop in Yuma County. After 2024, Love hasn’t starred in any acting projects.
As for his TV career, he also played the recurring roles of Wendell Wilcox in the 1990s sitcom The Parent ‘Hood from The WB and Sha in the ABC show Black-ish, as well as series regular roles in The Big House and Step Up: High Water shows. Other notable TV credits include one-episode appearances on popular shows like The Wayans Bros., That’s So Raven, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, My Name Is Earl, and The Upshaws.
