Released in 2011, Colombiana is an action thriller directed by Olivier Megaton and led by Zoe Saldaña. The film centers on a woman who spends years preparing for a single objective after a violent crime destroys her family during childhood.
After witnessing the murder of her parents in Bogotá, young Cataleya is taken in by her uncle Emilio in Chicago, United States. As she grows older, she develops into a highly trained assassin who uses her skills to carry out contract killings. While carrying out assignments for her uncle, she secretly pursues those responsible for her parents’ deaths years earlier.
Her ultimate goal is to find the mob figures connected to the killing of her family and exact revenge for the crime she witnessed as a child. As Cataleya moves closer to her target, she draws the attention of FBI agent James Ross. He then becomes determined to uncover the identity. The cast includes Saldaña as Cataleya, Jordi Mollà as Marco, Lennie James as James Ross, Callum Blue as Steve Richard, Cynthia Addai-Robinson as Alicia, and Jesse Borrego as Fabio.
