Star Wars, Black Panther & Captain America Games Get Positive Updates After Delays

Black Panther & Captain America and a mystery Star Wars game have received key updates after long delays. Both projects are under the Paramount label. Previously, many had written off both projects, but now it appears they will see the light of day.

What are the update on the Star Wars and Black Panther games?

Back in 2022, Amy Hennig and Skydance New Media announced an untitled Star Wars video game. Interestingly, Henning had also previously announced a Marvel game featuring Black Panther & Captain America back in 2021, titled Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra.

Unfortunately, both titles have suffered extensive delays since their announcements. Now fans who were hoping for a significant update have received welcome news. It’s been confirmed that both Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra and the mysterious Star Wars game are still in development and haven’t been canceled, though they will need more time before release, reports Gamesradar, citing Variety.

This recent news came with Paramount’s announcement of forming a dedicated game studio, called Paramount Games Studio, for all future projects. It’s a unified gaming studio that combines Skydance Interactive and Skydance New Media with Paramount’s intellectual property.

Paramount’s head of corporate strategy and development, Tony Driscoll, is the president of this studio. Alongside him, Dan Prigg serves as the executive vice president, head of games for Paramount, while Shawn Kittelsen has been named the senior vice president, head of creative & production.

Speaking of more upcoming video games by Paramount Games Studio, a new AAA title, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin, was revealed with a new look at the Summer Game Fest last week. The action-RPG will be made by PlatinumGames. It was originally announced during the 2023 THQ Nordic digital showcase.
