A perfect candidate for Kamala Khan’s Young Avengers team may have just been found in the Season 2 finale of Daredevil: Born Again.
The finale episode, “The Southern Cross,” completes Angela del Toro’s two-season superhero origin story, showing her aiding Jessica Jones and Daredevil against the Anti-Vigilante Task Force as the next White Tiger. Given how much younger she is than Jones, Daredevil, and the rest of the Defenders, the next obvious step for Angela del Toro’s superhero journey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is to be part of the debut Young Avengers lineup.

Why should White Tiger join the Young Avengers instead of the Defenders?
Like Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel and expected Young Avengers members Cassie Lang and Kate Bishop/Hawkeye, White Tiger already has experience working with other superpowered individuals. “The Southern Cross” highlights this capability during the fight at the courthouse. White Tiger is shown working fluidly with Jessica Jones and Daredevil to take down AVTF officers.
While a past comic book iteration of White Tiger has been part of the Heroes for Hire, the superhero team founded by Luke Cage and Iron Fist, if the MCU’s Angela del Toro were going to join a team, it would make more sense for her to seek out other heroes her age.
White Tiger joining the Young Avengers would also address a complaint some fans have had with the proposed lineup for the MCU version of the superhero team, which is that a lot of the members are either too old to be considered “young” Avengers or played by actors who are well into their twenties. White Tiger solves both those issues, as not only is the character depicted as a teenager, but her performer, Camila Rodriguez, is still a teen herself.
Given how knowledgeable Kamala is about heroes in the MCU, White Tiger is probably already on her radar, especially now that Matt Murdock has publicly revealed himself as Daredevil. Matt previously assisted Kamala’s father, Yusaf Khan, in stopping a bank heist in Born Again Season 1. The episode ended with Matt receiving a dinner invitation from Khan, who mentioned that he could meet his daughter, Kamala.
The post-credits scene of The Marvels, featuring Kamala recruiting Kate Bishop for her team, showed that Kamala is extremely forward, so it’s not out of the realm of possibility that she might try reaching out either to Matt in prison or an accomplice like Karen Page for more information about White Tiger. Although, given how Angela has not really attempted to hide her identity, Kamala may know she is White Tiger and contact her directly using their shared friendship with Matt as a way in.
Finally, with how much character development Angela del Toro has received in Daredevil: Born Again, her inclusion in Young Avengers would allow for the project — which still has not been officially confirmed by Marvel Studios yet — to spend more time developing other members who haven’t received as much screen time, like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier character Eli Bradley.
If Kamala is truly looking for the best young heroes for her team, she can’t do much better than White Tiger.
