The Conquest & Early Dynasty
- Aegon I Targaryen, “Aegon the Conqueror” (1 – 37 AC): first king to sit on the Iron Throne and take the title “Lord of the Seven Kingdoms.” He ruled until his death in 37 AC.
- Aenys I Targaryen (37 – 42 AC): eldest son of Aegon I. He ruled five years, and 15 of the next 16 kings were his direct descendants.
- Maegor I Targaryen, “Maegor the Cruel” (42 – 48 AC): seized the throne despite Aenys’ heir. He was later found dead on the Iron Throne.
- Jaehaerys I Targaryen, “the Conciliator,” “the Wise” (48 – 103 AC): ruled 55 years. He unified laws and died in 103 AC.
The Dance of the Dragons & Aftermath
- Viserys I Targaryen (103 – 129 AC): chosen over Rhaenys for the throne. His death in 129 AC ignited the Dance of the Dragons.
- Aegon II Targaryen, “Aegon the Elder” (129 – 131 AC): crowned after Viserys’ death. He ruled during the civil war and was later poisoned.
