Episode 6 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 3 (Contrabando) has fans talking, and not just about what happened in France. Fans are also wondering if there’s a spark between Carol and Antonio. Also, whether it could lead to a reunion later in the series.
Here’s everything we know.
Will Carol reunite with Antonio in future episodes of TWD: Daryl Dixon?
The episode dropped plenty of emotional moments that hinted there’s more going on between Carol and Antonio than meets the eye.
When Roberto’s health started to decline, Carol suspected Fede had him and decided to sneak into his office to get medicine. She got caught, but managed to smooth-talk her way out of it. Thanks to Antonio’s mother and a few Spanish phrases she’d picked up. Later, Antonio opened up about his late wife.
There was also a scene in which we saw Carol accidentally walk in on Antonio mid-shower, which raises further doubt. Fans were quick to pick up on hints, asking whether this chemistry could evolve into something more in future episodes.
Despite all the teasing, it’s still up in the air whether Carol and Antonio will actually cross paths again or if anything romantic will come out of it at all.
What we do know is that AMC has confirmed Season 4 will be the show’s final run. So if the creators ever plan to explore that spark, time’s running out. There’s a good chance Antonio’s connection to Carol could make a comeback before the curtain falls.
Some fans even believe Antonio will appear again if Carol’s European storyline starts to connect with other familiar faces from The Walking Dead universe. In earlier episodes, Carol mentioned a “friend whose brother lived in Barcelona.” Many fans think she is talking about Rick Grimes’ brother, Jeffrey.
