Why Fans Think WWE Is Leaving Netflix Soon

Viewers are confused about whether WWE could be leaving Netflix following a recent announcement about ESPN’s new streaming service. Earlier, ESPN confirmed that its new streaming application will launch on August 21, 2025, with all WWE premium live events (PLEs) set to move from Peacock to the platform next year. However, it’s reportedly known that the first live event might debut on the service this year. This has left many fans thinking about the future of WWE on Netflix as well.

Is WWE leaving Netflix after new ESPN announcement?

WWE is not leaving Netflix, as Raw is the only WWE show streaming on the platform in the U.S. The move to ESPN’s new service applies solely to PLEs.

On August 20, the wrestling promotion revealed that it will make its ESPN streaming move live earlier than expected. Instead of beginning the transition of PLEs next year, the first live event will debut this year. The event, Wrestlepalooza, is scheduled for September 20 and will air on the new streaming platform at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.

This won’t be the only event to make a move from Peacock to the new streaming service. Other PLEs, such as Crown Jewel and Survivor Series, will be made available to stream on it later this year. WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque announced the early move to ESPN’s streaming platform in a statement. “On September 20, WWE and ESPN are coming together for a can’t-miss event to kick off our new partnership. The biggest Superstars in WWE. The biggest brand in sports media. Are you ready?” he added. Other WWE titles, WrestleMania, will likely transition to ESPN’s service in 2026. (via Deadline)

Raw will not be impacted by the PLEs’ move and will stay on Netflix. In 2024, it was announced that Netflix and WWE had entered a 10-year deal, as per reports. This year, Netflix officially became a home to RAW in the U.S., UK, and Canada, among other regions.
