Rory Gibson’s Michael Corinthos may have won sole custody of Wiley and Amelia, but the fallout is just beginning, especially for Willow in General Hospital. In recent episodes, fans witnessed an intense custody trial end in Michael’s favor. But according to Rory Gibson, the real drama is in what comes next: will Willow be allowed to see her kids at all?
General Hospital’s Rory Gibson hints how Willow could meet her kids
Speaking with Soap Opera Digest, Gibson shared how Willow’s only chance at reconnecting with Wiley and Amelia depends on one thing, which is cutting ties with Drew. “She has to choose Drew or the kids. It has to be one or the other; it can’t be both,” Gibson stated.
Michael refuses to compromise when it comes to his children’s safety. Gibson explained, “If Drew’s around, then Michael doesn’t feel like his kids are safe. If Drew isn’t around, then okay, we can have a conversation, we can have more of a dialogue.” Michael won’t entertain the idea of Drew being involved with Wiley and Amelia, even indirectly.
Rory Gibson emphasized how seriously Michael takes his role as a father in General Hospital. “He has to be a father first — before anything else, before being a partner — and he has to think about them and their well-being and what’s in their best interest.” That sense of duty outweighs any lingering affection for Willow or guilt over her pain.
Moreover, Michael always saw Drew as someone who manipulates and deceives, but now, after what he tried to pull during the custody trial, he is more sure than ever. “As long as Drew is in the picture — someone who’s willing to manipulate children and spread these lies and manipulate the woman he once truly loved, no dice. It’s not gonna happen as long as he’s around,” he added.
While Michael’s love for Willow hasn’t disappeared, trust has, especially when it comes to Drew’s influence. The next step forward for Willow now hinges on an impossible decision: leave Drew behind, or risk losing her children for good. General Hospital fans are waiting to see what she does.
