It all started when Firehouse 51 responded to a car explosion, only to realize the victim was Robert Franklin, the same man responsible for the accident that killed Pascal’s wife, Monica. The timing was way too suspicious, and Severide quickly confirmed it was arson.
With Pascal’s motive obvious, which is revenge for Monica’s death, the Chief suddenly found himself in the middle of an investigation. Even though he swore he was innocent, he had no alibi. And when evidence pointed to a firefighter being involved, things went from bad to worse.
Severide dug into Pascal’s past and uncovered that back in Miami, Pascal had been secretly gathering evidence against a corrupt fire chief, aka Chief Hendricks, who is tied to the mob. Monica had known about it, and her sudden death now looked even more suspicious.
Was Hendricks from Pascal’s past setting him up? The pieces fit, especially when Severide learned Monica had confided in an old flame, Lt. Stephen Vale, about Pascal’s investigation.
