Jurassic World: Jonathan Bailey in Talks for Lead Role in 2025 Movie

Jonathan Bailey is reportedly in talks to join the new Jurassic World film.

According to Deadline, Bailey is circling a lead role in the next Jurassic World entry, which arrives in theaters on July 2, 2025. There are no character details currently. Bailey is best known for his role as Anthony Bridgerton in Netflix’s Bridgerton. He will appear in Bridgerton Season 3, which premieres in May 2024.

In 2023, Bailey starred alongside Matt Bomer in Showtime’s Fellow Travelers. For his role as Tim Laughlin, Bailey won the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series. Later this year, Bailey will star as Fiyero Tigelaar in Wicked: Part One.

Who is Involved in the New Jurassic World?

Scarlett Johansson has reportedly been offered the lead role in the new Jurassic World. Johansson has not accepted the role but has been in talks with Universal and Amblin Entertainment.

The upcoming Jurassic World film was announced in February 2024, with David Leitch on board to direct and David Koepp to pen the script. However, Leitch departed the project, and Gareth Edwards (The Creator) replaced him. Edwards reportedly impressed producers Steven Spielberg and Frank Marshall, leading to a deal shortly after.

Spielberg will executive produce through Amblin, with Marshall and Patrick Crowley producing through Kennedy-Marshall.

The 2025 movie will be a new take on the Jurassic World franchise. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, the two stars of the Jurassic World trilogy, are not expected to return. Jurassic Park’s original stars — Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, and Laura Dern — are also not likely to appear.
