Stakehorse: Justin Lin to Direct Amazon MGM Crime Thriller

Justin Lin has been tapped to direct Stakehorse, an upcoming film for Amazon MGM Studios, according to a report from Deadline.

Nothing is known about the film as of now, but Deadline notes that it is described as a crime thriller. The film will be written by Justin Piasecki, who most recently worked on Relay. Lin, Todd Lieberman, and Alex Young will produce the project, with Piasecki executive producing the project.

Lin is best known for his work directing various Fast & Furious films. Lin directed 2006’s The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, 2009’s Fast & Furious, 2011’s Fast Five, 2013’s Fast & Furious 6, and 2021’s F9.

Lin continues to have plenty in development

Up next for Lin is The Last Days of John Allen Chau, a film which is set to enter production soon. Lin is developing a film based on the hit anime and manga series One Punch Man for Sony Pictures.

Lin is also working on the Apple thriller Two for the Money, which is set to star Charlize Theron and Daniel Craig, a project that is currently in development. The director has also worked on high-profile action films, including having directed 2016’s Star Trek Beyond.
