There’s a lot to choose from as the best Pluto TV series to watch in April 2024. Since this platform gives access to numerous shows, it can be tough to narrow the field down to a select few. But that’s exactly what we’ve done with our eight picks for what to watch this month on Pluto.

Charmed

Charmed is one of the special sentimental dramas from the late ’90s. It gained a cult following for putting a positive spin on witchcraft by featuring three sister witches who fight demons and evil forces by using the “Power of Three”: Prue Halliwell (Shannen Doherty), Piper Halliwell (Holly Marie Combs), and Phoebe Halliwell (Alyssa Milano). Later in the show, another Halliwell sister named Paige Matthews (Rose McGowan) is brought into the fold. Pluto TV only has the first four seasons of the show (out of eight) available on demand, but it’s a good way to start watching (or re-watching) Charmed from the beginning.

Farscape

The Australian-American sci-fi TV series Farscape was far ahead of its time. Produced by The Jim Henson Company and Hallmark Entertainment, the show featured a diverse cast with the leading man and astronaut John Crichton (Ben Browder), the Peacekeeper officer Aeryn Sun (Claudia Black), the Luxan warrior Ka D’Argo (Anthony Simcoe), and the blue-skinned Delvian Pa’u Zotoh Zhaan (Virginia Hey). And that’s just a few of the main members on the crew. The story starts when John gets sucked into a wormhole, finds himself somewhere else in the Milky Way galaxy, and heads straight into a chaotic chase with the Peacekeepers going after a living spaceship called the Moya. If he wants to get home, he’s has to figure out how space really works fast. Pluto TV has all four seasons of Farscape as well as the Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars mini-series available to watch.

Hannibal

Sometimes you need a monster to take out the other monsters. The Hannibal TV show, which premiered in 2013, centers on Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) as he aids FBI special investigator Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) to solve various mysteries. It’s a psychological horror twist on the familiar police procedural genre. In its three-season run (all of which are available on Pluto), the series earned many awards for both Dancy and Mikkelsen, and to this day many horror fans consider Hannibal as one of the best TV series of all time.

Sabrina the Teenage Witch

The family-friendly sitcom, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, was a very popular, coming-of-age show in the late ’90s. Based on the Archie Comics, it stars Sabrina Spellman (Melissa Joan Hart) as she navigates high school and learns how to be a new witch under the tutelage of her two aunts, Hilda (Caroline Rhea) and Zelda (Beth Broderick). It also has a talking black cat, voiced by Nick Bakay, who lightens the mood with his antics. Since it’s a sitcom, this series is far more light-hearted than the Netflix reboot of the show called Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, so it’s an easy watch. Pluto has the first four seasons of Sabrina available to watch, so you’ll need to look elsewhere if you’re looking for the last three seasons of the show.

Sailor Moon

There are a lot of places to watch the classic Sailor Moon anime, and Pluto is thankfully one of them. This Japanese animation features a group of teenage girls who fight the forces of evil by transforming into the Sailor Scouts and using the power of the planets to vanquish them with magical attacks. For specifics, Pluto has the Viz Media version of the anime with Japanese audio and English subtitles for all five seasons. It also has the Sailor Moon Super S and Sailor Moon R movies, plus the newer Sailor Moon Crystal reboot that’s stays truer to the original manga.

Star Trek: The Next Generation

Many fans view Star Trek: The Next Generation as the best series in the franchise, and for good reason. It’s hard to top Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) as the Captain of the USS Enterprise-D, along with First Officer William T. Riker (Jonathan Frakes), Lieutenant Geordi La Forge (LeVar Burton), the Klingon Worf (Michael Dom), the half-Betazoid counselor Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis), and the android Data (Brent Spiner). Created by Gene Roddenberry, the show focuses on the Starfleet starship’s journey and exploration of the Milky Way galaxy as it encounters other alien races, planets, and civilizations. That said, Pluto only has the seventh season available on demand, so if you’re watching it for the first time, you’ll need to find the first handful of seasons on a different platform.

The Twilight Zone

It goes without saying that The Twilight Zone is one of the most important TV series to date. Running for five seasons on CBS from 1959 to 1964, this black-and-white sci-fi horror series combines elements of fantasy, robots, and aliens to create a surreal, mind-bending stories. Many of the most memorable plotlines, as each episode tends to have its own contained story, have surprise endings and some ironic twist of fate. At the moment, you can view seasons 1, 2, 3, and 5 on Pluto.

Top Gear

Pluto is one of the few places where you can watch nearly every season of Top Gear (with the exception of seasons 1 and 25). And just to be specific, we mean the revived show with Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May that debuted in 2002. The combination of a studio-based format, top-tier production, and humor made this revamped version of Top Gear one of the best programs to showcase motor vehicles at their finest. Better yet, Pluto has plenty of other Top Gear specials on demand like Extra Gear, Winter Blunderland, The Racers, and much more. That’s an incredible amount of content that you can watch for free.
