Mia Goth Alleged to Have Kicked MaXXXine Background Actor According to Lawsuit

MaXXXine star Mia Goth has been accused of kicking a background actor in the head on the set of the horror sequel, according to a new lawsuit.

Goth at Center of Lawsuit

James Hunter has sued Goth after claiming he suffered a concussion from the kick whilst performing as a “Dead Parishioner” in the third of Ti West‘s Goth-fronted horror trilogy.

The suit accuses Goth of battery and includes a wrongful termination claim against A24, Goth, and West.

In Hunter’s lawsuit, he claims that on the first night of shooting, he lay on the ground for several hours covered in fake blood, “enduring ants and mosquitoes.”

For the scene, Goth was supposed to run past him, and sometimes step over him, look down, and keep running. But on one take, Hunter felt like Goth had almost stepped on him, and he expressed his concern to the second assistant director, who supposedly then relayed the message to Goth herself.

On the next take, Hunter alleges Goth deliberately kicked him in the head with her boot and went on to mock him in the bathroom after filming the scene, goading him to do something about it.

Hunter then stated that he felt lightheaded when driving home after the shoot, and had to pull over twice. The next day, according to the lawsuit, the casting agency informed him that the production did not want him back for the remaining two days.

MaXXXine stars Mia Goth, Elizabeth Debicki, Giancarlo Esposito, Kevin Bacon, Michelle Monaghan, Halsey, and Lily Collins. The film currently has no release date, but is expected to arrive in 2024.
